About Kona

Adoption Fee: $25
Dutch Shepherd mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Meet Kona! Kona is a sweet and loyal Dutch Shepherd mix who's looking for her new best family. She just turned 5 years old, is about medium-sized, and spent her first 3 months as a rescue puppy in Puerto Rico before arriving at a Florida shelter. She's been cherished by her family ever since, and hopes to find a loving home that will appreciate her silly, sassy nature. Breed: Dutch Shepherd mix (half Shepherd) Gender: Female, spayed Age: 5 years old Size: Medium Personality & Temperament - Kona may be a little shy with new faces and sudden movements, but once she feels safe, she blossoms into an affectionate companion. She loves playing at the park, going for car rides, and exploring new places. Kona gets along well with friendly dogs and cats. Her bark is strong, but she is truly a sweet girl - she uses her voice to let her family know when something's new or unusual. Kona is a patient soul who takes her time trusting new people. She does best in a relaxed environment with adults or older children who respect her gentle, timid side. She thrives with someone who is gentle, patient, and willing to give her a little extra time to bond. Training & Health - Kona is a registered emotional support animal (ESA), and comes with complete paperwork and DNA results. She is in excellent health, leash-trained, and housebroken, with no history of destructive behaviors. She loves spending time outdoors and is happiest snuggling up with her person once she feels secure. She loves to run and play and is always the fastest at the dog park! Ideal Home - Kona is searching for a semi-quiet, stable home where she'll be treated with love and patience. She would do well with a relaxed family, gentle individuals, or someone seeking a devoted companion for outdoor walks and cozy evenings. Why Rehoming? - Kona's family loves her deeply, but due to new strict landlord restrictions, they're unable to keep her. She's never been surrendered before, and her family has done everything possible to avoid placing her in a shelter, but they're running out of time and options. If you have room in your heart and home for an affectionate, loyal girl who just needs a little extra time to warm up, Kona is waiting to meet you! Submit an application and help give her the loving future she truly deserves. We are urgently seeking help for Kona. Our time is running out, and surrendering her may be our only option very soon. Please let us know if you can foster, adopt, or help spread the word. I'm trying to give her the best chance at finding a loving home! Thank you so much.
