On Gabapentin .5ml every 24 hours for cystitis. & Journey Journey to Omaha- We thought we were feeding our neighbors cat to be friends. It turns out, we were feeding Slinky! One morning, I saw this kitty eating the kibble behind the house. He would slink around the house to get the food, thus earning the name Slinky. He was clearly starving and would initially hiss at us for food but then hiss and meow. After a week, he was eating in front of the house and rubbing against my hand to be petted. Within 3 weeks, he decided to come inside and slept the entire night on the couch and curled up next to me this first night! He became an indoor only cat in Hawaii around February 20, 2025. We learned he was TNR'd through his microchip and met the woman who fed his mom/litter. We decided we could not leave this beautiful, amazing cat in Hawaii on his own. We recognized he was full of Aloha. We decided to fly him back to Omaha with us in early March 2025. He did exceptionally well on the plane and in the carrier, also sitting on my lap for the first time ever. He is extremely adaptable and took only a few hours to start exploring his new home. Favorite toys, activities, or quirks - Slinky loves to watch birds and squirrels on the deck so I put bird seed out frequently to keep him entertained. He loves playing with feather wand toys. He loves chasing the wands through tubes that we have. He can jump really far and high, so we learned he needs a very large open space for any high/far jumps or leaps. He loves sitting in boxes, especially if they have a little tissue paper in them. He enjoys being brushed with the hand mitt brush. He likes being pet/brushed around his neck, chin and belly but not farther down his back. He cannot be alone with any small toy mice or toys with strings as he will eat them. He has become much more loving/friendly since we have met him. He loves pets on the chin and will then flop his entire body down and rub on our shoes for more love. He will groom his bonded parents and loves sleeping next to us on the bed on his cashmere wrap (he stole it from me). He likes sleeping next to us but not touching us. He goes to sleep around 9:30pm and sleeps next to us until around 5am. Comforts or routines that help with his separation anxiety - Bird TV on YouTube, bird seed on deck to watch birds/squirrels Adoption Logistics Supplies that come with him (carriers, toys, bedding, food) - His carrier, 1 litter box, 1 climber, his cashmere wrap and some favorite toys if we can meet potential owners by car near Omaha, NE Current Location - Omaha, NE Transportation - We can drive up to 4 hours to meet someone who is a good fit for Slinky. We would like to find a loving home for him, one which appreciates Bengal characteristics and can meet his demands for love, play and attention. We feel he would do best with a retired couple or a person/couple (Maybe older kids) who does not travel and in a single cat household (he is very dog like and an older dog might be ok).
