Folks! I should not be the only person that believes this is NOT how a dog should look and been transformed into after 4 years in a home %A4 This sweet little #GermanShepherd that looks unrecognizable from her 'adoption' photo in 2021 is Ryker. Ryker was brought to the shelter by a good samaritan on 9/9/25 after being found in this horrendous condition. Sadly, years of neglect and improper care have caused poor Ryker to lose almost every ounce of fur she had just a few years ago. To no surprise (and potentially for the better) Ryker's owners have not responded to any communications from the shelter who went out of their way to go directly to Ryker's current address. While Ryker's stray hold will soon be up, this girl will languish for MONTHS in the shelter until her fur regrows... only to spend even more time competing with the younger dogs of similar breed that arrive to the shelter every-single-day :( Ryker's gentle disposition & sweet temperament should make her worthy of rescue or compassionate adopter, but it's up to all of us to make that become a reality. Ryker definitely needs our help to have the next chapter in her life make up for the failures she's had to deal with over the last few years!!! If you or someone you know can help please contact the shelter at 562.570.3080 or [email protected] HI!
