About Lou

Lou is a 4-year-old female Doberman with a tender, loyal heart. She's wonderful with kids-gentle, patient, and protective-but she can be a little slower to warm up to adults. We believe something in her early life may have made her cautious, but once she trusts you, she's deeply affectionate. One of her favorite things is to lay her chin on your lap while you pet her, soaking in the love. She's house trained, knows the 'go to bed' command, and uses her bed as a safe space when new people are around. Lou is used to a lively home with visitors and does well with activity, though she needs a little time to settle in with strangers. Play is big for Lou-she loves chasing the laser light and will run joyfully alongside her brother Captain until they're both tired. She's also happy to lounge, snuggle, and simply follow her people around. Lou must stay with Captain-he depends on her to feel secure, and she's happiest with him by her side. Together, they balance each other and bring out the best in one another. Lou would thrive in a home that gives her space to run, patient introductions with new people, and plenty of family time. She's a loyal, loving companion who will return affection tenfold once she knows she's safe.
