About Lance

Lab mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Lance !! This adorable gentle boy came to us from a shelter. Poor guy was in rough shape with cuts and scrapes all over. He's finally starting to feel safe and has been a very sweet guy. Lance is an approx. 1 year old male. He's a yellow lab mix and weighs 47 pounds. He will be neutered, microchipped and updated on vaccines as part of his adoption. He is heartworm negative and on preventatives. He has been adjusting to indoor life very well. We don't think that he had ever been inside before. He has found couches and laps and thinks both are the best thing ever. He is still shy and timid at times. We think he may have had a rough life before coming to us, but he is starting to embrace the love and indoor life. Lance is still learning his house manners. He is doing pretty good with potty training all things considered. He has had a few accidents, but he is starting to learn the concepts. He does well in the car. He really doesn't like crate training. He can be very vocal about it. He has been doing better each day with practice. Leash walking also seems to be new to him. He is still scared of it but learning. He has done really well with other dogs he has met. He is definitely over interested in female dogs, but his neuter will help with that. He has not met any cats so we are not sure how he would do. He is not fostered with kids, but he has a very sweet nature dog so we think he would do well with respectful children. Lance is just starting to come out of his shell. He's starting to relax and feel safe. He recently started playing with toys. He would probably do well with another confident dog in the house to show him that everything is safe. He is currently fostered without another dog, so we are not sure how he would do with sharing food treats, and toys with other animals, but he does fine with with humans. He does eat very fast and may have been deprived of food in the past. It would be best to feed him on his own, so he doesn't feel threatened or feel that he has to protect his food from other dogs. Lance currently has a lower energy level, but we do expect that to increase when he starts to feel more comfortable. Right now he's a bit of a couch potato, but with his breed, we think he will have a much more energetic side once he feels more confident. His new family will need to be prepared to exercise him properly once he becomes more active. He seems to have a very sweet and gentle disposition. We think like a little bit more training and his confidence boosted he's going to be an amazing dog for a lucky family. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 1 hour drive radius) '%BC%8FPlease message [email protected] or for faster response message our Facebook Page directly with questions or to get an application. '%BC%8F
