NOW ON THE EUTH LIST - NEEDS LOVING, RESPONSIBLE HOME, OR FOSTER AND RESCUE ASAP Please help us find a loving, forever home (or foster and rescue) for this very handsome and very sweet boy who is estimated to be only 2 years old and is a smaller chow. His shelter picture does not do him justice, must see him in videos. A Shelter volunteer who met him and provided videos described him as 'the best chow ever, docile, loving' and further added, he was submissive to the hyperactive large dog he is kenneled with and was jumping all over him, which is seen in several videos. The shelter notes also state he was 'able to pet and handle'. No behavior issues are noted. We are calling him 'Charlie' and the shelter sent out a plea for help because he is ill with possible kennel cough (has clear nasal discharge but a dry hacking cough), and has been placed on meds. He is also noted as having possible lower lid entropion and missing some fur on his legs, as well as had some diarrhea, possibly from stress. Please note Charlie only came in on 8/27 as a stray and was been added to the euth list on 9/5 with a 9/11 at 3 pm deadline to exit, 2 pm to commit. The shelter has already stated no extensions will be granted. Due to his medical needs, we are looking for a foster we can refer to as rescue to save him in time, as most rescues need a place for a dog to go. A rescue could then provide medical needed. We are unclear if he can also be adopted directly from the shelter with a medical waiver, but we can also refer potential adopters to a rescue group to help to foster to adopt and assist with medical if needed, or if he is made Rescue only (and only allowed to be released to a rescue group).
