Courtesy Posting: CODE RED AT PHOENIX, AZ! ID #A5150341 -MARICOPA COUNTY ANIMAL CARE, WEST LOCATION- RESCUE ONLY (NHO) - NEEDS FOSTER(s) TOO - 'GINTOKI 'a handsome, 34 lb boy listed as a young chow/shiba inu mix, TAKES TREATS GENTLY AS SEEN IN VIDEO! NOW ON DEADLINE FOR 9/10 TO COMMIT OR 'May be at risk for euthanasia 9/11/25 or sooner if warranted' per shelter. HE WILL LIKELY BE EUTHANIZED 9/11 AM. HE IS 'RESCUE ONLY' BY A 'NEW HOPE PARTNER ONLY' which means he can NOT be adopted from the shelter directly, and New Hope partner must pull her out. Therefore, since rescues need a place for a dog to go, WE NEED A CHOW SAVVY FOSTER or FOSTER TO ADOPT AND OR A RESCUE TO SAVE HIM IN TIME. Emergency/soon to be euthanized! We are in urgent need of finding a chow or shiba inu savvy foster, or at least a foster familiar with similar Asian or spitz breeds. Now named Gintoki, he came in as a shy stray with an abrasion on his paw but otherwise healthy. At 34 lbs, he is perfectly sized, is estimated to be only 3 years old and has a beautiful white coat. Although he is shy with new people, shelter notes state,' Allowed handler to pick leash up; followed out of room; walked well; able to apply clip leash while walking, not interested in dogs in passing. Some pulling on walk but easy to direct to 'J' yard'. In video we will post on facebook, he can be seen taking treats very gently. A complete list of shelter notes for behavior and medical can be found on the portal: https://apps.pets.maricopa.gov/pri.../Details/OTI3-MDYx-MzhB We are therefore looking for ideally a foster or foster to adopt Gintoki who has some Asian or spitz breed experience. If you may be interested in fostering, fostering to adopt, or helping in some other way (ie., pledging for his rescue), please email: [email protected] asap at Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement asap, AND also fill out a foster application on https://dogfoster.org/ so both entities can work on pairing a foster to a rescue group to help. Rescues can assist with neuter and medical. Rescue groups may contact the shelter directly at [email protected] and by calling 602-506-7387 and providing ID.
