About Izzy

Adorable little Izzy is looking for a home in Orange County, California ONLY! She is estimated to be about 1 year old, weighs 12lbs, and has the cutest underbite. We think she might be a Tibetan Spaniel or Pekingese or Pug mix of some sort, but we don't know for sure! She ended up at the shelter as a stray before we rescued her, so her background is a mystery. So far, Izzy is a very sweet but pretty shy girl at first. As soon as you give her a treat, she will be your new best friend! She's doing well in foster care and is learning basic commands (sit, down, and come). She's very food motivated! She has yet to have a potty accident in the house, and she gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home. She sleeps through the night in her crate as long as someone is nearby (she does not like to be left alone in her crate). We have also cat tested her, and she is good with cats! She is an expressive little gal! She likes to 'talk' and tell you what's on her mind, and it's quite cute! She will squeak at you if you are eating something she'd like you to share. Izzy isn't a fan of barking dogs and can get overwhelmed quickly when barking is going on. She can also get a little nervous in new environments, so slow and steady will win the race with her. We think she would do well in a home with older, respectful, calm kids. She'd also prefer to have a family who is around most of the time (folks who work from home or who are retired would be her ideal match). So far, she is very Velcro and wants to be with her trusted people! She can be left alone for a couple of hours but she definitely prefers to have people around.
