About Max

Max��k - Pug, 10 years old, 7 kg Max��k is a sweet little pug who once belonged to an elderly lady. Sadly, when she was no longer able to care for him, no one else in the family could provide the attention he needed. Although Max��k is about 10 years old, his neglected state makes him look much older. Unfortunately, this is all too common with dogs coming from senior households. Max��k is underweight, very frail, and still has a long road of veterinary care ahead of him. Dental care: His teeth are in urgent need of treatment - right now, he struggles to eat and often needs to be hand-fed. Ears: He is being treated for ear infections. Mobility: His back legs are weak and partially ataxic, with muscle atrophy from years of neglect. After short walks, he drags his legs behind him. We plan to start physiotherapy to help him rebuild strength. Surgery: One testicle never descended and has become enlarged, so neutering will be necessary. The good news is that his bloodwork wasn't too bad, and with upcoming heart and dental checks, we are hopeful he can soon undergo the treatment he needs. What kind of home does Max��k need? Max��k is looking for someone with a big heart and patience, someone who enjoys caring for dogs with special needs. He will need support not only with feeding and cuddles, but also with his physiotherapy exercises. He cannot manage stairs, so a home on one level or a house with a garden would be ideal. He enjoys pottering around outside at his own pace, and will happily join you for very short walks - though he may not always make it to the end. Despite everything, Max��k still has so much love to give. He deserves to spend his golden years being cherished and cared for. All our adopted dogs go home fully vaccinated, microchipped, and treated against parasites.
