About Astro

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Astro is not yet neutered - any rescue organization will need to commit to neutering him prior to adoption. There are no fees to pull from the shelter. This gentle giant is Astro, a 3-year-old Great Dane with a big heart and an even bigger presence. He was surrendered by his family who, with a baby on the way, decided they no longer had the time he deserves. Astro is a friendly, well-behaved boy who does well with other dogs and has no history of anxiety. He barks to let you know he's there, but he stays safely in a fenced yard and doesn't dig. He's still a playful pup at heart - especially when it comes to soft toys (which don't always survive playtime!). Astro hasn't been tested with cats, but he's been a sweet companion to humans and dogs alike. At just 3 years old, he's past the puppy phase but still has that youthful energy and charm that makes Great Danes such loyal, loving companions. He's ready for his forever home - one with room for his big paws and even bigger heart.
