About Rachel

Introducing Rachel to Ewenity!! She was on the euth list at Lee Co for fear.. She opened up within 24 hours and is now amongst 10 other dogs and wanting to be in my lap.. She is approx 2-3 yrs old, maybe a minpin chi mix. She is full grown approx 10 pds or less. She is a shy girl, and does bark at strangers. She will be a velcro dog, walks well on lead, likes to play with squeaky toys. She has exhibited some guarding of toys with a growl, but quickly remediated by taking the toy away.. She does NOT like a crate but will go in for a toy. Not very food motivated at this time. She is completely house broken AND pad trained. She does try to chew the lead on her so not her favorite thing. Wants to be held, and will not eat unless you are standing near her. She will need someone who can be patient and firm, to work with her on confidence and trust. She is fine with other dogs, really doesn't play with them but can coexist.. Does not like dogs in her face, and will growl to let them know. Fair enough. She will need a quiet home with no or one other calm and kind dog. She does not need someone who will baby her, as separation anxiety and dependence could be an issue later on. Will need to introduce her to other people, lots of people, get her out and socialized. She seems to have led a very sheltered life. Fenced yard is good, kind patient dog is good, and dog savvy person who is patient and kind will be good.
