Ok gonna try a post for this guy again as Ive been working hard with him!'|. Meet 'Peanut''|'|. He is around 8 years old (but you would have no idea because he is soooo full of energy!, chihuahua mix, house broken, neutered, up to date on shots. 'Peanut' spent his whole live with the same elderly female owner who recently passed away and no family to care for him so he was turned in to a shelter, he was getting stressed with the amount of dogs there so I went and picked him up and brought him to our shelter. 2 days of me trying to befriend him when I almost gave up because I was only greeted by snarls and teeth! Day 3 he decided we were the best friends in the whole wide world and he hasn't left my side or lap since!'|. Hence the issue'|. 'Peanut' has decided he likes to protect me and therefore greets everyone new with the same introduction I had for 2 days'| which makes for a REALLY hard adoption process!! Today 'Peanut' met an older couple and did amazing! (When I wasn't holding his leash! %A4|'%8D'ە%8F reintroduce me and we'd get snaps) 'Peanut' needs a person/family that is willing to give him a chance and work slow with him because he really is the SWEETEST boy when he decides you're ok! I've discovered his 'snaps' are not intentionally trying to hurt (thanks to a few brave public works guys for letting me test it out! Lol)'| he mouths but rarely applies pressure and his favorite move is a full charge and snoutbutt to your leg'|. You must act scared though! He seems to enjoy that! He's met a few dogs and has seemed ok (loves my chihuahua that comes to work with me daily) but if they're loud barkers he is not a fan of them! He is deathly afraid of kittens (had no issue with a 115lb gentle rotti tho) and doesn't seem to mind adult cats. Small kids move too quick for him and that seems to stress him out as well. 'Peanut' would do ideal in a home with an older person/couple who have lots of love to give because he'll bask in it all! He is great on a leash and LOVES car rides! I know this list may seem daunting to some but I KNOW the perfect home exists for him! His adoption fee is $100 If interested in meeting 'Peanut' please give us a call at Richmond Animal Control 401-539-4236
