About Chase

Adoption Fee: $100
Yorkie
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Chase is five years old and has so many wonderful qualities. He absolutely loves car rides, fetch, and his toys - he'd play all day if you let him. He's highly intelligent, loves learning new things, and responds very well to training when he's in the right environment. When Chase is calm and comfortable, he's affectionate and deeply connected to his people. That said, Chase does have some specific needs. He can be reactive, especially around other dogs, and he must be the only pet in the home. He'd do best in a quiet, calm environment without young children and without a lot of people coming and going. Chase thrives when he feels secure and knows what to expect from his surroundings. He'd do best with someone who has experience with dogs like him - someone patient, confident, and comfortable reading body language, giving him structure, and respecting his space when he needs it. In the right environment, Chase thrives and has so much love to give. This is one of the hardest things we've ever had to write. Chase has been part of our family since he was a puppy, and we love him deeply. We had always hoped that he and our senior dog, Chata, would eventually bond, but after years of trying, it's become clear they're simply incompatible. Despite our best efforts, living together has caused Chase so much stress that it's affecting everyone in the home. Managing them in separate spaces has worked short-term, but it's not fair to either dog and just isn't sustainable long-term. Finding the right home for him is our highest priority, and we'll be taking our time to ensure it's the perfect match. This decision has been absolutely heartbreaking for us, but we believe Chase deserves a life where he isn't constantly stressed - a home where he can feel secure, relaxed, and truly happy. If you think you may be that person, please reach out. We're happy to talk more about his personality, needs, and history to help determine if this could be a good fit for everyone involved.
