About Loki

Adoption Fee: $100
American Staffordshire Terrier mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Loki is a 7yr old AmStaff mix, he is around 50lb. Loki is special needs, as he is 100% deaf,(trained with hand signals);and has some brain damage from a previous home/abuse. He cannot be vaccinated or given heartworm prevention, and only tolerates a couple of flea/tick prevention. Loki also has severe PICA, he will obsessively eat any paper products (paper towels, kleenex, cardboard) and socks or small pieces of fabric. With close monitoring, or even using a muzzle, he can be managed well. He has never had to have surgery or an obstruction in the 6yrs I've had him. He is a phenomenal dog, he loves all other animals and humans. He loves to be close to you, and held like a baby. He doesn't realize he's a dog, and has absolutely no concept of personal space. Loki is house broke and crate trained. He must be crated when you're not home, and cannot have eyes on him at all times. He does do well sleeping in bed at night tho. Baby gates and trash cans with lids will be your best friend. Unfortunately, due to his PICA, he cannot live in a home with small children or anyone who leaves things laying around that he could ingest. Unfortunately, my health has left me bedridden, and friends caring for my pets, which is not fair to anyone. So, I would love to find Loki a home that will care for and love him like I have, and understand that even with his special needs, he is an incredible dog and would make someone an amazing companion. Inside home only! Vet reference required!
