Courtesy Posting: X URGENT AT SAN BERNARDINO CITY SHELTER WHICH IS FULL - ADORABLE, YOUNG CHOW X 'TYCHO' ID #A583986 - GIVES STAFF LICKS AND DOG FRIENDLY, Currently RESCUE ONLY due to being afraid of the leash, but may be made adoptable with improvement ! AT SAN BERNARDINO CITY SHELTER - NEEDS CHOW SAVVY FOSTER AND RESCUE ASAP TO SAVE HIS LIFE-or if they do later make him adoptable, NEEDS A LOVING AND RESPONSIBLE HOME, BEFORE HE IS EUTHANIZED FOR SPACE! Help! The SBC shelter is full, and is sadly now dealing with a distemper outbreak so dogs get very little time. Young Tycho was found as a stray, along a friend Boone believed to be his brother. They can be fostered, rescued or possibly adopted separately , although if anyone can take both, that's even better, but not required. Both dogs are estimated to be only 2 years old, weigh 60 lbs and have unique black and tan coloring. Sadly, both were mislabeled initially as aggressive by the intake officer when they were likely just scared. However, in their kennel, shelter notes indicate both dogs approached the kennel fence when staff approached, have a 'swishy' tail wag, with open mouth and a loose face. Tycho even licked staff, while Boone pressed his head to gate to solicit attention. However, because they were reactive to the leash (from fear going over the head, likely from earlier being catch poled), both dogs have not yet been made adoptable and are currently Rescue only. The shelter did say they will let them decompress and may make another attempt and may make them adoptable with improvement. We are however not relying on this given the shelter is full and both dogs also now have nasal discharge and were placed on doxy on 8/27. 'Rescue only' means only a rescue group can pull him out of the shelter (he cannot be adopted directly from the shelter, you need to go through a rescue group) to save him/them. However, rescues need fosters and a place for a dog to go. Therefore, if you are interested to foster or foster to adopt him and or his friend, please contact [email protected] asap or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to assist the shelter with his/their placement. We will to pair you with a willing rescue group in time. Rescues should contact San Bernardino City Animal Control at (909) 384-1304 and also by email [email protected] asap and note the ID. If they make either dog adoptable, and you are interested to adopt and give him and or his friend a forever home, please contact the shelter directly by calling or using the listing link (pasted into comments section of this post). Please note the dogs have not been tested with other dogs yet.
