My boyfriend's brother adopted Samson in the summer of 2023. Samson's former owner (and breeder) passed away, and was being cared for his former owner's family. They didn't want Samson anymore so my boyfriend's brother brought him home. Unfortunately, Samson and my male english bulldog don't get along. We have tried to find ways to get them to get along, but after two years of living together, they won't get along. They attack each other if they are ever in the same space, so we have kept them separate for the entire two years. Samson needs a home where he can be free to roam the house and not be kenneled all the time. I believe the type of home he needs is one where there are no other dogs, or at least only female dogs that are bigger than him (ideally no other dogs though). I believe Samson also needs an owner that can help him with his behavioral problems. I think Samson was beat/whipped by his former owner's because he attacks any collar or leashes that we try to put on him. He also isn't very good with having his face touched so keeping his wrinkles clean has been difficult, especially since they were bad before we got him. Samson also tends to mark, so I think anyone who adopts him would need to have a backyard that he can go walk around in and pee as he wants, and have him wear a belly wrap until he gets used to your house/place. He doesn't have accidents though! He sleeps in a kennel and has never had an accident, so that's great! He is also good with kids. He may tend to jump, so that may need to be one of the first things he needs to be taught properly. We are also working on getting rid of his flees, but he might still have some by the point of adoption. I just really love this dog. He just wants love, and while he can be a bit aggressive about it, I believe anyone who has the patience and the ability to train him would love and adore him so much. I just want him to have a good life and get the attention he deserves, and that I have been unable to give him due to my dog not getting along with him. If you have gotten this far and believe Samson is worth your time and attention, then please contact me! Every dog deserves love and affection, and to not be in a kennel all the time, so I want him to find a home soon. Thank you! I should note that he is not my dog. I just have taken the lead in finding him a new home. Please reserve any criticism. I am doing my best to put his needs first, and ensure he finds a loving home that he deserves. Thank you!
