4 years old, 52 lb. Urgent foster of adopter needed: current foster can no longer keep her due to job/moving. Does not do well in the busy shelter setting. Her behavior and well-being are MUCH better in a home. Ideal foster: Patient, adult-only home that values routine and enjoys peaceful adventures (beach walks are her favorite!). Once Larissa feels safe, she's loving, loyal, and eager to learn. About Larissa: Larissa is a smart, lovable dog who is house-trained, crate-trained, and loves relaxing with her people. She's content to nap around the house but also enjoys her long walks. She has been working hard on her leash skills and is doing great! Larissa is insecure when meeting new people and may bark or growl when pushed too quickly. She relies on her person to advocate for a slow introduction. Once you're in her circle, though, you're in it forever. She's affectionate, loyal, and loves to show her silly, sweet side with the people she trusts. In public, she passes strangers without issue, and a casual walk is the best way to get to know her. At home, she does bark at visitors, so she'll do best in a low-traffic environment while she continues building her confidence through training and structure. Dogs: Larissa has had positive experiences with dogs in the past, but we're currently focusing on building calm, neutral responses to other dogs, as she used to be reactive on walks. She's made great progress and is now rarely reactive.
