About Klaus

Adoption Fee: $500 obo
German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Klaus 3yo male, Not fixed, Western German, Black Sable Coat, Long Hair. AKC Certified with all documents and lineage. Klaus has been in our lives since he was 7wo. We lived in Sacramento and spent a lot of time at the river, the lake and hiking. He is a wonderful dog to our family and its very sad that we need to rehome him. Due to a lot of life changes, the amount of time we are no longer home, and the inability to find a Board & Care that will accept him, we believe the best thing at this point is to find a small family or single person that would be a better life style for Klaus. Klaus is a Giant Cookie Eating Monster and mine, my husbands and our sons favorite 'Life Sized' Body Pillow. He is full of emotions and personality. He truly is the best on a bad day. Klaus loves 'Stuffies' like a toddler with his favorite stuffed animal. He is not destructive with his toys, does not chew on furniture or dig. Klaus is perfect for a person who is outdoors and athletic. But also perfect for a lazy movie and pizza day (as long as its not every day) He loves car rides and Pup Cups. He is obsessed with water and the hose. He is kennel trained but does not require one. Unfortunately, Klaus does have an attitude that has made it so we can not board him when we leave for work trips or for emergency situations. Klaus at first meet does not like 99% of people and dogs. After a few days with his E-Collar he will be fine. But its those first few days. Klaus has never bitten anyone, however, without a strong owner, he will become extremely dominant and over protective. Klaus has successfully graduated from a 3 week Board & Train for reactivity and we can provide that certificate. He is E-Collar Trained and responds very well to his commands... with his owner. Klaus is an amazing dog and companion. It hurst us so much to admit that we are no longer the best owners for him. The best owner for Klaus would be a single man or small family (mom.dad.teenage kid or some variation) who has enough patience to continue working on Klaus's training. (If you or your family sit around the house all day then this is not the dog for you) If you go caping, hiking, water sports then he is perfect for that. He is really good on car rides and is used to the redwoods. I would love to discuss Klaus more with you if you are interested. If you are by yourself a lot, he will become your shadow and your best friend. Thank you, Ashley
