About Nixie

Ball is Life! Meet Nixie who believes this motto with all of her heart! Nixie is a petite tricolored corgi who came to CCFR because her owner is no longer able to care for her. She is energetic, friendly (after initial shyness), full of intensity, and joy for life. She is 3 years old, under 25 pounds, housebroken, and crate trained! She is new to leashed walks, but you would never know it as she is full of enthusiasm while walking. Having lived a more sheltered life at home until now, she is a bit nervous with new situations, dogs, and people and will need patience and positive reinforcement to help her learn her new world. Nixie's perfect home would be as an only dog as she can be possessive of food/toys and attention. Homes with other dogs would need to be experienced at working with resource guarding to improve these behaviors. She is a typical corgi and can be vocal so no shared walls please. Of course she would love a secure yard as she thrives on playing ball as much as possible. A moderately active home life with humans who aren't gone long hours of the day would be best for her. She is not cat or child tested so only respectful children (12+) will be considered for her new home. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
