About Jem guinea pig

Adoption Fee: $25
Small Mammal
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Jem is an adorable six-month-old, brown agouti and white male American guinea pig looking for a loving guardian. Jem was relinquished to Friends of Petraits Rescue when his human moved to a no pets apartment. Jem takes treats gently from your hands and makes adorable wheeking and squeaking sounds. He loves to eat unlimited timothy, orchard and botanical hays, a cup of fresh salad each day including cilantro, green, red leaf, and butter lettuce, parsley, and a 1/4 cup of guinea pig pellets. Guinea pigs need daily vitamin C from fresh pellets, a 1-inch square of red pepper, or some of their dark leafy greens. Jem would love a home with people who will handle him daily, keep him well-fed, nails trimmed, and habitat nice and clean. Jem previously shared a cage with another guinea pig, but she was a female, so we had to separate him. I think he'd love a more suitable companion. If you're interested in meeting and possibly adopting Jem, please fill out the adoption application at https://friendsofpetraits.com/guinea-pig-adoption-application/ and follow up to make an appointment by contacting [email protected] His adoption fee of $25 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue Group. For an additional $50, you can purchase his 2 foot by 4 foot Midwest guinea pig habitat and a starter kit of all the supplies you'll need to care for him. He is being fostered in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood.
