a 10-year-old Shar-Pei mixed-breed dog, (half shar-pei, half 11 other breeds) weighs 40 pounds and is current on shots, spayed, HW negative. She is intelligent and independent, she enjoys exploring outdoors as well as relaxing indoors with her humans. Her energy is low but requires daily exploration outside with walks under 1.5 miles. Housebroken and well-mannered, she is good inside a home, enjoys naps in her crate or laying by your feet. Coco is friendly and has accompanied her trainer on countless outings to parks, kayaking, friend's homes, and errands, as well as cabin camping and road trips. She has great manners and thrives in partnership with her person. She is a wanderer and explorer at heart and doors and gates need to be managed. She is experienced and comfortable with long leashed lines on a harness. She is great in the car, walks well on a loose leash, and comfortable wearing a muzzle if needed. Although she is comfortable with dogs nearby while out walking or at parks, she gets nervous when confronted or in close spaces with dogs and prefers to live in a home as the only dog. Coco is not recommended for households with young children or small animals such as cats, chickens etc with her herd/prey drive. Coco longs for a forever home where she is cherished and accepted for the amazing companion she is! She has been waiting a long time in a shelter environment in Saint Augustine.
