Meet Buddy 'g: Buddy is a big-hearted, goofy, and loyal companion who's looking for a calm, structured forever home. At about 90 pounds, this handsome mixed breed has become a shelter staff favorite. Everyone who spends time with him falls in love with his silly side and his ability to make people laugh. Buddy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, house-trained, crate-trained, and non-destructive in the home. He enjoys his walks, lounging on the couch, and being part of a daily routine. Inside the home, he's low energy and loves to relax with his people. He has received a good deal of training and walks nicely on leash most of the time. However, he can become reactive when he sees other dogs on leash-sometimes pulling or jumping up to grab the leash when overstimulated. With guidance, he is very manageable, and once properly introduced, Buddy has enjoyed playing with other dogs. He would thrive with someone willing to continue his training and provide consistency. Due to his size and occasional over-arousal, Buddy would do best in a home with no small children (teenagers and older are fine). He needs a calm, structured environment with a person who understands him and his triggers. Buddy's challenges stem from the stress of living in a shelter environment, where he developed frustration and hyper-arousal. While he has never shown true aggression, he has had a couple of accidental bites when grabbing for his leash under stress. Outside of that environment, he's proven to be a loving, manageable, and deeply rewarding dog. Buddy has so much love to give, and we're determined to find him the second chance he deserves. He only has until September 1 to find a home or committed rescue placement. Please don't let this wonderful boy's story end too soon-help us save Buddy's life.
