Courtesy Posting: PALMDALE, CA (S CAL)- LOS ANGELES COUNTY ANIMAL CARE & CONTROL- ID #A5719090 'MAX'- only 54 lbs, 7 years young. CODE RED/X URGENT, SHELTER IS FULL- SWEET, DOG FRIENDLY - GOOD HOME, OR FOSTER AND RESCUE NEEDED ASAP, SHELTER SENT NOTICES 8/15 AND 8/16 ASKING FOR HELP AND WARNING OF Possible EUTHANASIA, 72 hr pending notice expected in next day. Please help us find a loving home, or foster and or rescue asap for this sweet smaller german shepherd chow mix named Max dumped at the Palmdale shelter. His owners said they had too many dogs and were 'over the limit'. The shelter understands Max is approximately 7 years old and weighs only 54 lbs, so he is perfect size. The shelter has Max now kenneled with a much larger, male german shepherd- and gave us video of the dogs doing well together. We were told this other dog, Wally, came in as a stray and now a (new Friend) for Max. We understand Wally also needs an exit plan sooner rather than later, but is not as urgent as Max, at least not yet. Both dogs need out, and we have a separate post for Wally who is 110 lbs. His ID is #A5716281. A bit more information on Max: He was fearful on exam, rolling onto his back. However, his ears remained neutral, he has a soft eye gaze and lips. They noted he was quiet. Max is approved for public adoption with calm dogs, low energy. For direct adoption inquiries for either dog, please contact the shelter asap by calling (661) 575-2888 and asking for him/them by ID. All dogs will be neutered for an adopter, if not already done. Most rescues do need a foster to save a dog. Rescue groups may email the shelter at [email protected] and [email protected] .
