About Cashew

Cashew is a charming and spirited 10-year-old who's mastered the art of cozying up and enjoying life as a dedicated couch potato. This little guy LOVES nothing more than snuggling close and burrowing under blankets for the ultimate nap - the perfect companion for quiet nights in! His unique look might catch your eye right away; Cashew is partially hairless, so we believe he may have some Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless Dog) in his blood-line. Despite his small size (25lb), Cashew prefers being the boss around other dogs. He currently lives peacefully with a very submissive hound and would do best in a home alone or with a calm, submissive canine companion. He does not do well with unfamiliar dogs. Cashew is vocal like his Chihuahua ancestors, and will alert you when someone is at the door. He is not interested in toys but will engage in gentle nip-and-mouth play when excited. Cashew is not suited for homes with young children, as he has shown signs of discomfort and occasional lunging around toddlers. For this reason, a home without young children is imperative. He is very affectionate with people and thrives on close human connection. His loyalty comes at a cost as he may experience anxiety when separated from his family. Cashew is crate trained and in good health, but could benefit from some dental care. We love Cashew dearly and are committed to finding him a home that appreciates his unique personality and meets his needs.
