About Baxter

Meet Baxter Baxter may be small at just 11 pounds, but his story is one of quiet resilience. This 3-year-old Mini Poodle spent the early years of his life in a puppy mill, where love was absent and survival came first. Now, thanks to a caring foster home, Baxter is beginning to discover the joys of being a real dog. He's still learning how to navigate the world-loud noises startle him, and kennels make him anxious-but every day, he's gaining confidence. He's especially comforted by other dogs and does best with a canine companion to help guide and reassure him. Baxter's ideal home will be calm, patient, and understanding of his past. Another friendly dog is a must, and no small children, as he continues to build trust and find his footing. He's slowly learning to play, exploring toys for the first time. House training is a work in progress, but Baxter is eager to please and making steady improvements. This little guy has been through a lot, but he's not giving up-and neither should you.
