About Oliver (Ollie)

Adoption Fee: $150
German Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Ollie was born 4/25/24, we got him 06/28/24. We got him from a family that runs an adult family home my friend's grandma was at on Camano Island. No major health concerns besides anxiety typical of a GSD. No skin issues, beautiful coat and white teeth. Ollie is vaccinated, neutered on 5/22/25 and he is chipped. *OLLIE ENJOYS* * Going for walks and sniffing everything * Playing with any ball but his favorite is his giant herding ball and soccer ball * Playing in the sprinkler * Playing fetch (sometimes not giving the ball back right away) * Tug of war * Peanut butter * Chasing snowflakes * Pretending he didn't hear you call him when he's outside at bedtime unless you open the treat bag * Pulling weeds out of the garden (he will shake the dirt in your face) * Couch cuddles while watching TV. His favorite shows are Bluey, Scooby Doo and , his favorite movies are Air Bud, Balto and Ace Ventura. His least favorite movies are 101 Dalmatians, Marley and Me and Beverly Hills Chihuahua. *MORE ABOUT OLLIE* Ollie is crate trained. Ollie is a puller on leash. We try to do loose leash walking he has to make eye contact with me before getting a treat. Ollie will pull to smell the grass and gardens every 2 minutes so walks take some time. If he sees other people while on leash he can easily be redirected and we continue our walk. Ollie gets very excited meeting new people. He approaches with a lot of energy and will try to jump up on people. This scares kids sometimes but when Ollie calms down, he is just fine around all kids. He always tries to investigate when he hears a kid crying. Ollie comes in hot meeting new dogs and does try to dominate them during play so he needs to be watched. He's about 50/50 when it comes to taking corrections from other dogs. He will either completely ignore the correction and continue to jump on them or herd them. Some dogs he will take correction from and he will back off. Other times when he is corrected he will yelp repeatedly and then start limping even if it was just a bark to correct him. He can be very dramatic. We have 3 cats that stay upstairs and Ollie stays downstairs. Ollie will bark at them if he sees them sitting by the top of the stairs. We do bring Ollie up with us at times and if the cats run he will chase them. He will back off when swatted by the cats and if they cats stay put in their cat trees he will just whine at them. Ollie has gotten out of his crate while alone while we are at work and he gets upstairs all cats were unharmed just really annoyed. Ollie does fine in the car and jumps right in. He tries to get into my lap while I'm driving so I have a . I have a dog barrier that blocks him to prevent this and he will lay in the back with his toy. He barks at other cars with dogs randomly. Ollie is afraid of some men when first meeting them. He will stand between myself or my partner and the new person in a protective stance and will bark. I will then use distractions to redirect him to try to break his focus or temporarily remove him from the situation until he calms down and try again. He will eventually warm up. Ollie does not like it when people have face coverings or wearing large hoods covering their face. Ollie has some typical GSD anxiety. He will at times pace and be restless, bark or whine, excessively lick or chew on himself, sometimes he will chase his tail intensely while barking and try to bite his fur. He will also do this if he feels like he is not getting enough attention, or if he senses stress in the household. Ollie will nip (not aggressively) at the nail clippers and squirm making it very difficult to cut his nails. Ollie is not a big fan of being brushed. I brush him while he's eating or enjoying a kong snack otherwise he runs away or nips at the brush like the trimmers. Ollie does not like it when he is eating and you reach for his food bowl sometimes he will do a low growl other times he just stops and waits for you to move. He will also do this if he has some kind of bone or treats in his kong if you try to take it. If you show him another toy and distract him you can take his toy. Ollie will try to eat anything. clothing, towels, toys, garbage, pretty much anything. He needs tough chewer toys and everything needs to be put up high so he cannot get it. Ollie's commands are: *Boop (he will nose boop your hand) *High five *Shake *Sit *Down *Wait (selective needs work) *He will also come between your legs while you're standing and then sit. *Ollie comes with a large crate, large food storage container, bowls, toys, kiddie pool, grooming accessories, leash and collar (martingale and starmark) and bousnic dog training collar with remote (we never use the shock option only beeps and vibrate) ****Ollie should go to a home with an experienced pet owner who has plenty of space in their home.
