Once, when a strange dog charged toward his person, Morty put himself in harm's way to protect her. He was attacked for it - and sadly, instead of helping him work through that trauma, his world got smaller. He stopped meeting new dogs, and life became less about joy and more about just coping. Today, Morty's crate is his safe haven - the place he goes to relax and find peace away from the chaos of toddlers and the sharp teeth of a new puppy.
