Aramis is a high energy Belgian Malinois mix. He is a very loving and excited dog, and is very food and treat motivated. He is an independent thinker, and can be stubborn to get what he wants. Aramis does well in apartments, but would definitely benefit from a yard. He is fully house trained, has crate training, and knows basic obedience on and off leash. He gets very excited by other dogs and people, and often lunges to meet them. he loves playing and being pet by anything and everyone. He is capable of learning complex things and understands them well when given consistency and motivation. Aramis is currently medicated (20mg Fluoxetine) for his high level of anxiety, and has a hard time being alone. however, as long as ANYONE is paying attention to him, he's as happy as can be. He loves jumping up to meet people, mouthing, barking, and pawing, as he has high impulse that has been hard to contain, but has seen progress. His jumping causes concern for small children, but older children should be okay. Aramis is an intense chewer, and will target anything and everything. he goes through tennis balls, plush toys, and soft rubber in minutes. goes through yak cheese, bully sticks, and other animal parts in an hour. He can handle Nyla bones and other hard chew toys for a few weeks/months. Aramis has not been able to get along with our two established cats, and therefore we are looking for an active and loving home for him in which he can thrive with less anxiety. Aramis is NOT a first time dog and will take serious dedication and training, but I can see that he is more than capable of learning how to be a very good pup.
