Forest is a 1.5-2 year old Blue Heeler boy. We live in Flagstaff Arizona and I am willing to travel a far distance for a loving home. He is a medium energy dog that absolutely loves to fetch but will hang around the house with you during the day. I have found that a good fetch/walk session in the morning and a longer walk/fetch session in the evening, brings a good balance to his disposition. Forest LOVES other dogs. In fact, I've never met a Heeler that is so balanced and confident with other dogs. I have noticed that other male dogs can be intimidated by his confidence. Forest removes himself from confrontation. He is a cuddly guy. I have noticed that he is possessive over bones. I do not reach for the bone or take it out of his mouth. He is really good at 'drop it' or 'leave it'. He is fully potty trained. Sits, shakes with both paws. He is reactive to people walking by or a knock at the door. This has been the most difficult trait to correct. Forest has been around cats while on a leash but never off leash. He shows interest but it doesn't trigger a massive prey drive like in my other Heeler. Good with kids but he doesn't prefer to have them hanging on him. He does give a growl if uncomfortable but has never bit or snapped. I am happy to answer any other questions via email or phone. The reason I am rehoming Forest is because I am providing daily care for my older family member and also traveling to care for my mother. I'm simply not equipped to give a young cattle dog like Forest what he needs to be the best dog he can be. It's taking a toll on everyone, including Forest. He is one of the most unique looking and loving boys I have encountered in my dog family.
