About Twiggy

Meet Twiggy. This poor girl was found along the side of the road after she had been hit by a car. Covered and ticks, a broken leg and a fractured kneecap, she was rushed to the vet. After two surgeries and a long road to recovery, she's finally starting to feel like a puppy again. Her walking is improving every day. She's still a little wobbly on her feet and can't quite sit up like other dogs yet, but she's getting stronger and more confident as time goes on. Twiggy has been cleared for gentle play, but she still needs to take it easy. She'll do best with leash walks unless she's in a securely fenced yard. She hasn't had much training yet and will need help learning basic commands like sit, stay, and come. She also isn't crate trained since she's not able to get in and out of one on her own just yet. Twiggy had also tested positive for Lyme's but has already completed her antibiotic treatment and is feeling great. But here's what makes Twiggy so special. She is truly one of the kindest, most gentle dogs you'll ever meet. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She loves other dogs, does great with cats, and is even good with chickens. She goes to the door when she needs to go out and will use a training pad if you don't catch her in time. Just recently, she started playing with toys and showing her silly side - it's been such a joy to see her finally act like the puppy she is. Twiggy is looking for a home with patient, loving people who will give her the time and care she needs. Someone who will help her continue building her strength and make sure she's never hurt again. She's a really special little dog who deserves the world. If you've got room in your heart for a gentle soul like Twiggy, she's ready to meet you. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821).
