About Harlow

Adoption Fee: $150
Anatolian Shepherd
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

This is Harlow. She's a 10 year old mini Australian shepherd but most definitely a perma-puppy. We are looking for a more suitable home for her as our family dynamics have changed and we feel we are no longer the best fit for her. We are going to be very picky about our search and don't intend to re-home her if we can't find the absolute best fit for her. The biggest thing we are dealing with right now is her anxiety behaviors (barking, needing to be super close, herding type behaviors) that we feel are causing overstimulation in my husband and I, but most bothersome, in our toddler. A few things about Harlow%BD'%BD| Health: No major health issues Luxating patellas on the rear that don't affect her too much. Every once and a while she gets a bit sore and will let out a big yelp A bit overweight (likely from getting our toddler's scraps) Behavior: LOVES to love, and loves attention She'll chase a ball all day Can be a bit 'barky' but it's usually short lived and doesn't go on for too long Prefers to go with you, makes it known she doesn't want you to leave (via barking and herding) Can be somewhat anxious and will occasionally have an accident in turn (this might happen during storms and I can usually catch it before it happens) She does ok with children but is a bit leery of kids in her face A big licker Food motivated and will eat almost anything - you have to watch your plate! She can be left alone for several hours at a time but would do best with a family that was home at least part of the day pretty consistently. She would do best in a home that had some outdoor space. She needs a loving home with a patient owner who isn't anxious or easily overstimulated. We're asking for a re-homing fee and will discuss this with you upfront. Please reach out if you think you'd be a good fit for our sweet girl.
