About Cooper

Cooper is a 10 year old Australian Cattle dog and is light reddish brown coat (think fawn). He has been living with his current owner for the past four years, they share a home with other family members. Cooper is a very sweet boy and very devoted to his chosen people and family. Cooper does best if he is the only pet in the household. He has difficulty being around other dogs and cats. His current owner is not sure how he would do living in a household with children as he has mostly lived with adult humans. He is a very smart guy, eager to learn and knows all of his basic commands really well. His current owner is undergoing a life transition where it will be hard to fully give Cooper the care he deserves. She hasn't fully had the time or resources to do more extensive training, especially in regards to his leash reactivity. He loves going on adventures, walks through the neighborhood, being outdoors and especially playing fetch with his tennis ball. He would play fetch all of his days if he could. Like all athletes Cooper has had a previous injury, and underwent a surgery for his ACLs 4 years ago. He will get sore if he overdoes the exercise (he has mild arthritis) so moderation is key. Overall he is good health and a very loving guy. He will be having his yearly vet appointment at the end of this month and will be up to date on vaccines afterwards.
