In March 2024, Brownie left the shelter with a wagging tail and a hopeful heart-adopted and ready to start her forever. She was healthy, joyful, and so full of life at only 8 months old. But just over a year later, in July 2025, Brownie came back through our doors as a stray. This time, she was barely recognizable-painfully underweight, her spirit dimmed, her once-bright eyes now full of quiet sadness. We don't know what happened to her. But we do know she still believes in people. Brownie is incredibly loving, easy on leash, and focused on her person. She knows 'sit' and holds it patiently with those pleading eyes, just hoping for a kind word or a gentle hand. She adores affection and melts when you sit with her. Her little body is still too thin, but her heart is still trying. Now, Brownie is struggling with kennel stress'| it's wearing her down. She needs comfort and safety. Brownie has a hard deadline: August 10. She must be adopted or tagged by a rescue or she will be euthanized. We are begging for an adopter or foster to see her - we have identified a rescue that will pull her with a committed foster. She's just a tiny girl with a beautiful red coat and the saddest, most imploring eyes you've ever seen. Please don't let this be how her story ends. She deserves so much more.
