About Diamond

Female Shar Pei, devoted and intelligent, seeks loving companion (and family?) Hello, my name is Diamond. I am a 3 year old Shar Pei. I'm small, about 36 pounds, and an intact female. I'm pretty...black with a blue tongue, some scrunchy wrinkles and perky folded ears. I would very much like a forever home, and will make one particular person feel very special. I love kids, and am very gentle with people. I'm good at a lot of things, like reading what's going on with my person. I like hanging out right next to you or whomever is caring for me at the moment. I don't think I'm a pest, but I will remind you with cute whines or wags and a little paw if it's been too long since dinner or if I could really use that walk you promised me about 90 minutes ago. I'm a 'watch' dog, but I'm really a 'guardian.' I like to pay attention to what's around me. I'll watch you to see what is going on. Are you sad, happy, doing something fun that involves me, or going to work? Is there an unusual sound in our house? I'll give and appropriate woof so people know. If it's something that need an alarm, you'll hear an alarm. And if you tell me it's okay, I'll stop. Other noises, like fireworks, loud machinery, vacuums, thunder...eh, no biggie. I'm chill. I love being in the yard, or at the window to watch little creatures. I'm not sure if I could be friends with a cat. I like walks, and I'm getting much better at walking past other dogs when told to. I like the clicker thing...it means treats and I love treats! I've been on some very interesting field trips...long car rides are totally fine, and new places are mostly interesting as long as the person with me says it's cool. I mean, hardware stores, band concerts at a pavilion, wayside bathrooms, other people's homes, the vet (those shots aren't a big deal and I'm in good health.) I'd stick right by you, and look for your cues and guidance. The moving walkway at Menards was a stretch, but I did it because I was asked nicely. I love being talked to. I love positive cheerful words and touch, and will try really hard to please you if you choose to be my person and spend time with me. I've been living in a home with a really nice woman who has been taking care of me since March when my home life was disrupted. I'd love to stay with her, but she has other plans that don't involve me, which is sad, but I understand. So, I'm taking it upon myself to look for a good place for me. I'm sure if you want to get details from her, she'd give you LOTS of information. We've gotten to know each other pretty well. Maybe come for a visit and we can see if we're a match?
