About Ember

Located in Eugene. Meet Ember, she is a 12 year old German Shepherd Lab Mix, with the biggest heart & loyal spirit. Her owners both tragically passed away a year ago, and we are looking for a dedicated & compassionate family OR person to bond with her and give her to the best quality life with the years she has left. We cannot provide her that & feel it's best she finds someone who can. Her backstory: Ember was adopted from a Rescue as a puppy by my husbands grandparents. She grew up running alongside beaches, going on hikes and adventures with her other dog siblings in the family. Ember has been the utmost loyal companion to her owners and wants nothing more but to build a bond with someone who will give her the chance to. Ember's recent life was living outside of town, having a riverfront fully fenced backyard to run and play with a dog door coming and going as she pleases. She spent most days sunbathing on the back porch. She loves to lay next your feet to take afternoon naps, or up on the couch- she's been given a lot of freedom as any spoiled dog would. She loves to announce her presence, but with redirection and reassurance she will calm. She has a history of unknown trauma before becoming adopted so she is fearful with sudden loud noises and strangers coming to the door. She has been known to react to other dogs- not to hurt them but to warn them she is aware and ready to protect. She really isn't trying to hurt another dog, she barks out of fear and uncertainty. She currently lives with two teacup chihuahua's, and a house cat. She has never once hurt any of them.
