Oso was rescued from the San Pedro Harbor Animal Shelter, San Pedro, CA on 7/17/25. He was surrendered to the shelter by his owner of six years over a landlord dispute. Oso and owner were reluctantly crushed. Too bad they didn't try to board him and then get another apt. He is in foster care with my rescue and has been with me for two weeks as of 7/17.25. Initially, he appeared reserved and apprehensive. He has separation anxiety and shouldn't be left alone all day, but after two weeks he's coping well with my short absences. He is house-trained, is not kept in a crate, and interacts with stuffed toys and tennis balls. He is okay with small dogs, both sexes but not large dogs. Not been around cats. He needs a home without children or visiting grandchildren. He fetches and chases tennis balls. He sleeps on a dog bed or pad and has never used a crate. After two weeks in his foster home, he is getting to be quite affectionate and loves to be petted. He behaves well during grooming appointments, and his teeth are in good condition. He is current on all his shots and neutered. The owner filled out a very extensive and thorough owner interview/surrender info sheet. He is very afraid of fireworks. He spent time with a poodle and a chihuahua. He barks at people until he gets used to them but is not aggressive but needs time to decompress which is what he has done for the last 2 weeks in his foster home. Better photos coming. Placement is available in Los Angeles and Orange County, with a preference for the South Bay region of Los Angeles. Dog is fostered in Lomita, CA
