About Enola

Adoption Fee: $125
Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Enola and her kittens were found in a colony in Ridge. Surprisingly, she proved to be very friendly and sweet, so we decided to find her a home of her own. Enola likes pets and will roll on her back for belly rubs. She purrs a lot, but has not had the opportunity to bond to a person of her own. She gets along well with other cats, and she ignores her foster dog. Enola has tested positive for FIV. FIV is Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. She contracted the virus by being bitten by another FIV+ cat. It is only spread to other cats if she bites them. Since she is a very friendly cat and gets along with others, it is very unlikely for the virus to spread. As a precaution, introductions with new cats should be done slowly to prevent fights. FIV cannot be spread to humans, dogs, or any other animal. Cats with FIV can live long, healthy lives as indoor only cats. They will need immediate care if they ever get sick, but being indoor only, it is unlikely that she'll contract upper respiratory diseases from other cats. Please consider giving Enola a chance! Her FIV does not prevent her from being a sweet and wonderful cat! She is worth it! Meet the available cats and kittens at the Petco in California MD on Saturdays and Sundays 11-3 or at the Meow Dyer Cat Cafe in Leonardtown MD. Apply online at www.feralcatrescuemd.org.
