MILES is a 3 year old, 10.8 lb tri-colored Dachshund mix who was found as a stray. He is a precious, friendly little guy who charms everyone he meets! If you're looking for a loving companion who wants nothing more than to cuddle you forever, MILES is your guy. He'll amaze you with how tiny a ball he can curl himself into, especially if it's in your lap! He will pet your arm for attention and squeal with joy when you get home (after crying a bit while you're gone). He's very attached to his people and does not like to spend time away from them. MILES gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy having the companionship of another dog, but he'd be perfectly happy as your one and only if he's not spending much time alone. We have not had him around kids or cats and think he would be fine with older kids. MILES is mostly potty trained (just a few accidents here and there) and walks well on a leash. On walks, he can get a little vocal when he spots other dogs, and at busy places he may need a little time to settle in. He gets very excited around all the people and would love to greet everyone if he could! Keep an eye on the front door, MILES will try to sneak out to go with you because he hates being left behind. He doesn't go far, he just wants to be wherever you are. It's possible that's how he came to be a stray and we would prefer him to have a home with a fenced yard. It's also helpful for quick overnight potty trips. At night, MILES wants to be under the covers, pressed to your hip, happiest when he's as close to you as possible. MILES has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative, has had 12 month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida.
