About DAISY

DAISY is a darling 2-year-old, 13.5 lb solid black Cocker Spaniel/Shih Tzu mix with the softest fur (freshly trimmed by her new best friend, Donna at Vanity Fur!) and the most adorable underbite. She was surrendered due to a major change of life for her owner. DAISY is a friendly, kissy, cuddly, tail-wagging bundle of joy and she's got energy to spare! She loves squeaky toys, balls, and chewy bones, but her favorite treat might just be an ice cube. She'll come power-sliding into the kitchen when she hears the ice machine and crunch it up like it's the best thing ever. DAISY loves to play with other dogs, especially those close to her size. She does best with playful, easygoing dogs who can match her energy without trying to boss her around. A dominant playmate isn't her ideal match. She's all for roughhousing but doesn't back down from a scuffle if things get too intense. She's had a few squabbles with one of her foster siblings, so her future dog friend should be well-matched to her fun but feisty play style. She would also be fine as an only dog as long as she doesn't spend too much time alone. DAISY hasn't been around cats and we think she's better in a home without kids. She can be wary of strangers and may growl at first meet, but usually warms up once she trusts you. Slow and steady wins her over and she'll be your best friend in no time. DAISY is very treat-motivated, housebroken, rides nicely in the car, and walks well on a leash. We would love her to have a home with a fenced yard because of her higher energy level. At night, she sleeps happily in her dog bed in the bedroom, but sometimes hops into the family bed for extra snuggles. DAISY has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Please remember to check your spam folder for any communication from our team. We adopt to homes within a 1-6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and some dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally. We do not ship or transport our dogs.
