Ivy is still available. She is an amazing German Shepherd. She is smart, high energy, athletic, silly, and fun. She is the absolute best of what this breed has to offer. She comes from health tested parents who had clear hips and shoulders. She has had embark testing and is genetically great. I adopted Ivy when she was a puppy and brought her into my pack of 4 other German Shepherds. Unfortunately, as can happen with female German Shepherds, my older female didn't like Ivy growing up and she attacked her on her first birthday. I worked closely with a trainer and vet, but the hostility of my older female was so severe and wasn't decreasing, that their advice was to find Ivy a new home where she would be safe. That was 3 years ago. I was able to find her a family where she lived happily for 3 years. Though they reported she developed some separation anxiety that they treated her for medically. Because of this, she would probably be best in a home with someone who works from home. And because of her intelligence and energy levels, it's also probably best she be with someone who is very active, and who has a large yard, or on a farm with working animals. She is not a good candidate to live with other dogs because of her past and she can be dog reactive. Though I believe in the right setting (as a working dog on a farm - for example) this could be worked out. Unfortunately her new family moved and due to legal reasons they didn't anticipate, they couldn't take her. So I brought her back to my home so she wouldn't end up in a shelter while her forever home is finally found. Unfortunately, even after 3 years has passed, my older female is still showing signs of holding a grudge and Ivy is still unsafe here. I have an adult child with special needs who doesn't understand that she cannot let the dogs play together so I am having to be hyper focused to keep everyone where they need to be. Given that, I am wanting to get her into the best home possible, as quickly as possible. And I will drive her anywhere in the country if she has a good home to go to. If you'd like more photos of Ivy or information about her, please text me and we can talk.
