Zak is a 2 year old male, that we took on in November 2024. He was in an accident in August 2024 and has some slight issues with his left eye. We believe his vision is affected on the left. He loves attention. He was reactive to our outdoor cats in the beginning, and we have not had any issues in the past 6 months. The cats are outside almost every time we exit the house. We do have him on a lead often and he walks well with a lead. We have a 6 year old female Belgian Malinois who is dominant and does not get along with Zak. She growls and bites at him pretty often. That relationship is deteriorating rapidly - from our female, not from Zak. Prior to our home, we do not think he had not been socialized with children or other animals. Full disclosure: We had an issue with Zak biting a 5 year old family member. It was 100 degrees outside, kids were playing in a kid pool, screaming and laughing. Our female was fighting with him in the large outdoor kennel. My husband opened the kennel to bring them in the house. Zak ran after a child and bit him twice. He had not been aggressive in the past, outside of jumping on people who enter. I would not recommend him to a family with children at this time. He does very well around adults. He is a beautiful dog who is sweet most of the time. Lots of energy! He would do well in a home where he would have lots of activity, stimulation and exercise. When he is able to be active he is a much calmer and happier dog. He loves to go on hikes and long walks. He is an aggressive chewer and loves his toy ball. He sleeps with it and carries it around all the time. He is current on all vaccines, neutered and microchipped.
