About Radar

Border Collie
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Foster/adopter needed: I am fostering a cattle dog mix for Humane Society of the Treasure Coast. He is blind, but the most incredible dog I have met. He runs, fetches, swims, chases, and plays just like a sighted dog and has no fear. We have been fostering him for 4 months. We had hoped to keep him, but he is just too energetic for us. Is there anyway you could bring him into your rescue? I don't want to release him back to HSTC, he would be out in a wired kennel and it would destroy him. They are willing to transfer him to another rescue. Is there anyway you would be willing to bring him in? This is the Facebook post I have made for him, but I have not had anyone reply. Have you been looking for THAT ONE SPECIAL DOG? This dog has SuperPowers! Some may look at the fact that he is totally blind as a disability. Radar looks at it, and sees it as a Super Power! He is the most confident, bravest dog I have ever met. Instead of seeing, he uses his ears, his nose, and well, his radar, to maneuver. He manuvers fantastically through houses, yards and woods. And boy, does he love adventure! He loves to swim, run, fetch, hike. He is game for any and everything. This is a boy that is ready and willing to do anything you want to present to him. He is going to excel at Scentwork & Nosework. Rally and obedience would be super easy for him. I can even visualize him going into agility, he is that amazing! This dog will be legendary. In turn, he needs an owner that is experienced in dog training and willing to work with him. He is young, not even a year yet. Experience with high energy breeds is a must. He has so much to learn, and needs a confident owner that will continue teaching him the correct way to develop into perfect dog. He is massively affectionate and quick to learn. He loves other dogs and would do great in a home with another dog, as he lives to play, chase and wrestle with other dogs. He loves cats, but gets excited around them . He is being fostered in Ocala, and will be adopted through the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast. There is an adoption fee from the shelter. Home visit required, application, interview, and multiple visits at his current home required for his adoption. Please message me or email at [email protected].
