About Javi

Meet Javi ('Ha-vee') !! This sweet boy is a near perfect addition to any family. He is a loyal, loving and mostly trained happy boy. Javi is a 5 year old, male, beagle mix. He weighs 35 pounds and is full grown. He will be neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped as part of his adoption. He is heartworm negative. Javi has been great to have in the home. He is doing really well with his training and manners. He is potty trained and has not had any accidents. He is crate trained aside from some initial whining when first put in. He has done good in the car. He is new to leash training but doing fairly well. He does still pull sometimes. He did great with meeting all the dogs in his foster home. He's with small and large dogs, senior and playful dogs. He's great with them all. He loves to run around the yard with another dog. He isn't fostered with cats so we are not sure how he would do. He's also wonderful with children. He does some excited jumping at times but generally is very gentle with children. Javi blends well into most family settings. He has a medium energy level so far. He needs his exercise time and then he has been very relaxed and chill inside afterwards. He loves to run with the other dogs, play with you, or other dogs. His previous owner told us he was higher energy so it may increase some but it also may be lower now that he has other dogs to play with. He seems more busy than hyper. He likes to roam around the house exploring with regular snuggle breaks with you in between. He's been fairly quiet for a hound breed. He rarely barks. He does whine a lot when he wants something but it's fairly short lived before he gives up. He's super happy and loving. He enjoys all the attention he can get. Javi has not shown any aggression at all. He's been fine sharing food, treats and toys with both humans and other dogs. He can be a bit of a picky eater and isn't overly food motivated but does enjoy a good treat. He likes to give kisses and cuddle up with you after he's done exploring. He's fine to hang out in his kennel while you're at work for the day as long as he gets some attention and playtime when you get home. We are very excited to see him find his perfect new home. He is a great guy and would be an easy first time dog or for someone who doesn't have the time to train a puppy. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA.
