About Ally

Hi, I'm Ally! I am 6 years old & I lived on a farm in Yakima my whole life-- I'm a proper working dog! I'm new to the suburbs but I'm enjoying my new life over here. My foster parents personally rescued me because my previous living situation was pretty scary-- my previous owners wanted to put me down. I'm not sure why because I have so much life left in me. The vet said I'm in excellent health! Some awesome things my foster parents say about me: I am very smart & know A LOT of commands. I am fully potty trained. I love to be with my humans-- cuddles & sleeping in bed is a must. I am only about 40lbs (the perfect size, right?) and even with my fluffy fur, I don't shed much! I will appreciate any toy you give me but squeaky toys are my favorite. Although I loved working, I don't need as much exercise as I used to. Regular walks are just fine & if I'm at a park I'll just sit with you and ask for pets. A little about my past & how it affects me now: -I am a farmer's dog so I'm used to being able to chase after critters-- I would not do well with cats or small animals. -Although I am getting along with my foster family, getting abandoned really affected me. I get very anxious when my foster parents leave for what they call 'work.' I whine for a few minutes after they leave but eventually accept that they'll be back later. My anxiety meds help me relax but I could use more training to get used to being away from my humans. I would LOVE if my family's 'work' was at a home! -My biological mom and I used to get into fights and she would bite me in the face-- I don't trust other dogs much anymore (especially females) and want to defend myself. My foster parents are working with me so I can stay calm when I cross paths with other dogs. I won't bite, but I do best with slow introductions where my boundaries aren't pushed past my comfort level. I do love my foster dog brother though! We're best buds now after he gave me space -Due to these previous tiffs from my mom-- I have some scars on my face and my head is a little lopsided. The vet says it's possible nerve damage but it doesn't affect me other than add to my charm! I know I am a bit older but if you choose me I will love you & be loyal to you for the rest of my days.
