IT TAKES A VILLAGE, AND YOU ARE MINE Those of you that rescue/adopt these Shepherds in need instead of paying a Breeder, YOU are the REAL TRUE HEROES.***Thank you so much [Case opened on 7/23/25]. URGENT!!! ABUSE CASE! BATAVIA, OHIO . (willing to drive up to 200 MILES ). 3.5 Y/O MALE GSD (DOB:?/?/22) ). His name is ' JESSE'. Background: the Current Shepherd Foster rescue Jesse from an abusive home and fostering until his Furever Home is found. WILL BE UTD ON 7/30/25 on shots WITH record, unless adopted first. WILL BE Fixed ON 7/30/25, unless adopted first. UNKNOWN with kids. Good with dogs. NOT Good with cats. House trained. Crate trained, he stays in the screened in back back porch or the laundry room with the crate door open and does really well. Not destructive. Any known medical issues?: ALLERGIC TO FLEAS. . HIGH ENERGY?:YES . HIGH PREY DRIVE?:YES, VERY . ANXIETY. ABUSE TRAUMA/TRIGGER RESPONSE. Currently on ' Victor Pro Plan Beef' plus 'Blue Buffalo Soft' food. Weighs 82 lbs. Good with car rides?: YES. Socialized with other dogs and/or people?:NO . Good with meeting new people? SOMETIMES. Because of Jesse's abuse, he has Trauma Response and Trigger Issues. He is good sometimes when meeting someone new, and then other times he is barking and lunging.(ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!):. Loves: car rides - going on walks - being brushed - chew bones - antlers - stuffies - balls - playing fetch - burying his ball - affection - treats - pup cups - belly rubs - rolling in the grass- running - his cot - chilling outside at night when it is quiet and peaceful. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?:YES, VERY SMART . *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): UNKNOWN. *Good on a Leash?:OK . *Lovable?: YES. *Eager and fast learner?: YES. This poor guy has been through some stuff. The Current Shepherd Foster and her Circle of Friends knew the previous person who had Jesse and knew of the abuse and neglect. They confronted him with the ultimatum to give them Jesse or they will call the Dog Warden. He at that point, handed Jesse over to them. He has severe mental issues as well and would not give Jesse water to the point that Jesse was rushed to the hospital for dehydration. Jesse had open and bleeding wounds down his back from fleas and this man would punch Jesse in the head for itching and scratching. The severity of the abuse is unknown, but thank God Jesse has been rescued from that person. Jesse has a lot of trauma to work through. Because the Current Shepherd Foster has cats, Jesse is being kept in the screened back porch. He is showing signs of depression and is unhappy and not thriving. He cannot join the household. Jesse needs an amazing family who will show him nothing but love and kindness. Jesse is getting vetted and mended up and is ready for his Furever Home. IF APPROVED, he can be adopted immediately, or if you would prefer to wait until after he is neutered on the 30th, you can take him at that time if you are able to care for him during his healing process. Hoping to find someone that will take him IMMEDIATELY because he is not thriving in the situation that he is in and is sad and depressed. Jesse has bonded with the Current Shepherd Foster and has shown NO issues at all towards her. However, with everyone else, Jesse can be unpredictable. He likes someone he met one day, and then the next day he is barking and lunging at them. He has to be sedated when he goes to the vet. Jesse did bite the Current Shepherd Foster's friend. She came up towards him trying to get the harness on him and he completely freaked out and bit her in the face. Jesse reacted very remorseful and sad after the fact. He was completely fine with her afterwards, but seemed as if a switch had been flipped when she approached him with the harness. No action was taken. This is clearly a Trigger Response from his abuse. Be very careful approaching Jesse and with any sudden movements because it seems like this may be one of his Triggers. He is afraid of water, baths, pools, etc. He is currently in Training Classes. Re Homing because'|: The Current Shepherd Foster rescued Jesse but is not able to keep him. They are a cat home, not a dog home. Will thrive best'|?: in a loving home with someone who is experienced with Abuse Trauma/Trigger Response. Someone kind, affectionate and loving who will be able to devote time to help Jesse through these issues. Someone that will show Jesse that not all humans are bad. Comes with: collar, leash, medium sized crate (please keep the door open, bed, toys, food, cot. RF75 . ***If on RM site, please text me for more pics*** 513-417-6238
