About Perla

Meet Perla !! Beautiful adventurous fun loving puppy! She's a super sweet ball of energy that's looking for her new home. Perla is a 17 week old female chocolate Lab. She currently weighs 28 pounds. She will be a large dog when full grown. She will be dewormed, given several sets of vaccines, a microchip, and spayed as part of her adoption. Yes she's adorable BUT she's a lab puppy. They are generally crazy hyper and active for years. They stay in the puppy stage for 3-4 years. That means you'll have an over 60 pound puppy here shortly. Once they get older Labs are amazing but you have to put in the work to get to that point. You'll need to be prepared to exercise her both mentally and physically multiple times a day and invest time for daily training. If you're not going to properly exercise her you will have a hard time with training and behavior. Please don't pick her unless you're committed to this level of work to meet her needs. She loves to play with you or other dogs. She loves all toys, playing tug, balls and will fetch pretty much anything. She's excited and eager to learn. Very treat and food motivated. Perla is doing very well with training for her age. She knows several basic commands. When taken out properly she rarely has any potty accidents. She's doing well with crate training and also on car rides. She's okay with the leash but still needs some work on not pulling. She is still in the puppy chewing stage and will get a hold of things that are left out if you do not watch her or provide her enough exercise, bones and toys. She has been great with all other dogs. She has a ton of energy and another dog playmate in the house would be great for her. She has not meet any cats so we aren't sure how she would do. She has been great with kids and all people but does jump all over you when excited. She's learning the 'off' command but forgets when she's hyper. Perla has had no issues sharing food treats or toys with humans or other dogs. She's a fantastic adventurer partner and loves going on outings and meeting new people. She is pretty much up for anything. She's a great dog with a ton of potential for the right family. Shes smart, sweet and adventurous. If her higher energy isn't channeled and trained daily she will become very difficult to manage. Please realistically consider if you're in a position to meet her needs before applying. Adopting a young puppy is a ton of work. They will have lots of potty accidents, chew things up etc. You will need to help them learn things like leash walking, crate training and basic manners. It can be a lot of work but the reward is a dog that fits well into your family's lifestyle if you invest proper time on training with them.
