About ZEUS has till 8/27

Update: Zeus is now scheduled to be euthanized on 8/28 and needs to be saved by 8/27!!! He is continuing to decline behaviorally in the shelter environment!!! URGENT LISTED DOG IN NEED OF RESCUE OR ADOPTION!!! ZEUS, A2191631, NEUTERED MALE, BLACK DOBERMAN PINSCHER. Shelter: SOUTH L.A. Age: 2 YEARS. I weigh approximately 69.00 lbs. Video: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT66bqKaR/ This animal has been at the shelter since 04/10/2025 and on this list since 07/15/2025. Urgent Listing Reason: Zeus has been in shelter with no adoption or rescue interest for 96 days. Zeus seems to do well with being handled but has been displaying high FAS (fear anxiety stress) when in his kennel. Zeus has been intensely stressed when unfamiliar people approach him. Lunging and barking when approached by unfamiliar people. This behavior can be something that can be displayed once in a new environment and if the new handler is not seeking a dog for protection then this behavior may need to be addressed once adopted or rescued. Although Zeus has been in a couple of scuffles with other dogs he is generally tolerant of other dogs. He can get in trouble with them for mounting them but this behavior should be corrected when in a new home with a new handler so as to avoid future scuffles. We are unable to supply Zeus with the resources he needs and keeping him in shelter is inhumane. Zeus should be adopted or rescued as soon as possible to prevent deterioration caused by the shelter environment.
