About Chunky

Chunk is a 3-year-old German Shepherd mix with a big heart and a loyal spirit. He was rescued at 10 weeks old and has grown up in a loving home with another dog and a cat, both of whom he gets along with wonderfully. Chunk is playful, affectionate, smart, and thrives with structure and routine. Due to space constraints and a new baby on the way, his family can no longer give him the calm, focused environment he needs. Chunk has a history of anxiety and resource guarding, which has led to a few incidents in the past, but he's made great progress and has been incident-free for nearly 2 years with proper management. He would do best with an experienced handler or a quiet adult-only home where he can continue to grow in a stable setting. Chunk is not for first-time dog owners, but in the right hands, he has the potential to truly thrive.
