Meet Sylvie - a gorgeous (possibly purebred, possible mix with Malinois) GSD. She's 8 months old and full of energy and enthusiasm. She's very smart, a fast learner, athletic and naturally talented. She would be a wonderful companion on the trail or out in the forest, and could make a great student for sports, agility, or scentwork. We adopted Sylvie at 9 weeks old and have been training her at home with regular guidance from an excellent personal (R+) trainer. She is crate-trained and has learned basic obedience skills along with some tricks and games and performs them well in controlled environments. Sylvie is a high energy dog, and as a teenager she is still learning how to manage her big feelings and control her impulses to make good choices when challenged by distractions. She displays some anxious behaviors - she can be reactive and over excited around other dogs, cats and small children and can be mouthy and insistent when excited - but she is learning redirection and self-regulation skills. Sylvie will do best in a home without cats or small children and will need to be slowly introduced to other dogs, as she is still learning good play manners. Sylvie loves chasing and catching the ball, chewing on her bone, swimming in the river, playing in the sprinkler, digging holes, playing tug-of-war, finding new sticks, and scenting hidden treats. She enjoys being groomed and brushed and likes to go on walks and jogs in the neighborhood. Sylvie has quickly become a huge part of our family, and we will miss her dearly, but with our current situation at home we are not able to provide her with the lifestyle she needs to thrive. We're looking for a home for her with someone who has experience handling her breed and who will continue her training and give her space to run, jobs to do, and a steady routine to keep her strong, healthy, and happy and give her the best life she deserves.
