URGENT!!!East Valley Shelter has a 12 year old Chihuahua mix in medical, 'Barney' #A2207889!!! Barney is in need of rescue or adoption. He's been on our medical alert list since 07/11/25. Barney is a gentle 12-year-old senior Chihuahua who was recently surrendered due to landlord restrictions. Despite the sudden change in his life, Barney remains calm, mellow, and full of love to give. He enjoys attention and quiet companionship - the perfect lap dog for a peaceful home. Barney does have some medical needs that will require veterinary attention. He has a grade 3/6 systolic heart murmur, signs of flea allergy dermatitis causing hair loss along his lower back and tail, and ataxia that affects his coordination while walking. He's also showing signs of dental disease with tartar buildup, and early cataracts are forming. Though he needs a bit of extra care, Barney's spirit remains strong.
